Jesus brings a blessing to the blind. Blindness was far more common in ancient times than today. This is the condition that Jesus heals in the New Testament more than any other. 1. The cry of these men (vs 27)They were continually crying out. Their cries are loud screams. They are trying to get the attention of Jesus. They show great persistence. Notice two things about the cry of these men:-
These men may have been blind but they knew how to approach Jesus. How could they have so much vision? 2. The confrontation of these men (vs 28)They managed to keep up with Jesus even though they are blind. They were persistent. They get into the house and now Jesus does the talking. In all the miracles in Matthew we see persistence. It is an important quality. Jesus asks them if they believe He is able to heal them. Jesus wanted to hear it from their mouth that it was true. They professed it be true. God wants us to publicly profess Jesus. 3. The conversion of these men (vs 29-31)It was according to their faith that they would be healed. Jesus did not ask for any money to be sent to his ministry. There was more than physical healing that took place. Their "spiritual eyes" were opened. They needed faith and they were saved. See Ephesians 2:8-9. WHat else will faith do for you?
