A Word About Worry
| Philippians 4:6-7 | It will affect you mentally, physically and spiritually. Worry says to God that
He is not big enough to deal with your problem. Some people even get worried when
things are going well in their lives. If we can do all things through Christ who
strengthens us, what have we got to worry about? Worry is like being in a rocking
chair. It gives you something to do but you don't go anywhere. | 2008-01-01 |

Belief Brings Success
| Philippians 4:13 | If a person doubts or does not believe they can have something than it will often
be just beyond their reach. The ultimate key to success is to believe. What we believe
in our mind will often cause us to suceed or fail. | 2008-01-01 |

Confidence, Certainty and Cheer
| Philippians 1:1-24 |
John Milton wrote a marvelous
poem in which a slavemaster says, “I’ve whipped that slave, and he thanks me. I can’t hurt him,
but he’s hurting me.” Oh, if you and I could get above the smog of this world and learn to live
for Christ, there would be cheer and joy in our lives today. Confidence, certainty, and cheer for
the child of God.

Contentment
| Philippians 4:10-13 | Are you a contented person or are you always wanting more? Contentment is about
being full. Are you a thermometer or thermostat? Paul was a thermostat. What about
you? What about me? | 2008-01-01 |

Five Steps To Mental Health
| Philippians 4:4-9 | I want to give you five steps to mental health. We are going to have a mental checkup
from the neck up. Paul writes these words from a prison. It sounds like he is writing
from a hotel! There are many things that make a prison - disappointment, fear, etc. | 2008-01-01 |

From Glory To Glory
| Philippians 2:5-11 | The apostle takes us from glory to glory - from a eternal past to an eternal future.
These verses were a hymn in the early church. | 2008-01-01 |

From Heaven To Earth
| Philippians 4:1-4 | Some Christians live so much in the heavenlies that they are unaware of what is
happening around them. They end up coming down to earth with a bump. We have to
face reality. Spiritually our life is in Heaven but physically we are on Earth. | 2008-01-01 |

God Will Provide
| Philippians 4:9-20 | The book of Philippians is a book of thanksgiving. Paul was frequently imprisoned.
It was the church of Philippians who sent a gift to Paul in prison. This letter
is Paul's reply to the church after their giving. This church had learnt that blessing
that comes from giving. God will provide in our times of
need. | 2006-11-08 |

Good Works
| Philippians 2:12-13 | It is by grace that we are saved by faith and not by our good works. If we work for
something then it is not a gift. We can't take any credit for our salvation. All
the glory goes to God. Works are how we live out our salvation. It is proof that
salvation has been worked in. | 2005-10-19 |

How To Live A Stable Christian Life
| Philippians 4:1-9 |
If you phone a hospital to check on a patient. you might be told they are in a stable condition.
What does that mean? It means "firmly fixed, unable to be moved!" To be spiritually "stable"
means that you are not easily shaken. You are not easily carried away or swept off your feet
by every new fad. God wants us to stand firm in our faith.

Philippians - A Series Of Sermons
| Philippians |
The letter to the Philippians is, and has been known, as the epistle of joy, or the letter of joy. Twenty centuries
ago an itinerant tent maker by the name of Paul was tossed into prison for creating a public disturbance. As he's
in prison in the city of Rome he takes it upon himself to use the time well and industriously, and he writes many
epistles - several of which we have within the New Testament - to churches around the Mediterranean
particularly, and Asia. He sits down and upon probably a dozen pieces of scratchy paper, he writes the letter to
the Philippians.

Pressing Forward
| Philippians 3:13-14 |
You can become stagnant in your life. The word "press" means "to urge forward with force".
God wants progress in your life. The Christian life has been compared to a race. One
of the things that hinders you in a race is weights. Weights are good for keeping fit but not to
win the race! We are to take care of our body. There are things we need to deal with that weigh
us down. How many of us want to win?

Pursuing God
| Philippians 3:1-8 | God has pursued me. Do I want to pursue Him? At the end of Paul's life he is still
seeking God! | 2008-01-01 |

The Power Of Persistence
| Philippians 3:10-14 | Do you settle for far less than what God has planned for you. See 2 Corinthians
11:23-33. The trait of persistence is required if we are to overcome life's obstacles.
Paul does not even mention the word "quit". Persisitence is a quality trait in a
person It is a combination of strong desire and will power. | 2008-01-01 |
